4th September 2005

Rainy.
I was thinking to myself, "Should've stayed in the company to surf the net."
The rain poured even harder.
No more Jatujak for me...
As I look out of the taxi window, I tried very hard to tell myself that I'll be in Jatujak next week. And the greatest joy is that my family will be there with me. I hope it doesn't rain next week. Please.. for my family.
Then I felt lighter.

When we finally reach Bangkok, it was 1210. The rain had become a drizzle. (Yeah, that's how far we were from Bangkok haha.)
My friend, Yong De, suggested to eat some good food.
Oh boy. good food means expensive food. But since there is no shopping for me this Sunday already, I wasn't in much of a mood to really care.

We finally went to the Outback Steakhouse.
Food was Okay. Though I must say. Their onion rings are good. The mashed potato too.
Look at the picture. Cheese fries on the plate in front of me. It's a disappointment.. not cheesy enough.. heh
But that twirl of brown at the bottom left is heavenly - those onion rings.

But anyway, that lunch costed me 500baht. I can buy at least 17 bowls of noodles elsewhere. This means about 5 days of breakfast, lunch and dinner for a local. But I guess it doesn't hurt spending so much once in a while. I'm not grumpy.

After lunch, Kaiqian and I went to watch a movie - The Cave.
Haven't seen such a Hollywood movie in a while. Can't exactly say that I'll spit on the movie. It is Okay.
But I will go for a good-'boring'-thought provoking-art film over these anytime, anyday :p

We took a stroll in Lumpini Park that is between the BTS train station and the night market. Saw people doing aerobics. Very groovy sight. Aunties, Uncles, Pretty Ladies, Young Lads.. All doing aerobics. Better than our Great Singapore Workout I concluded.
Then there were many joggers and people in the huge park too.
I felt refreshed :)

Bought a few CDs at the night market.
Everything But The Girl, Jack Johnson, Tracy Chapman. cool music.
Can't find my Bjork though.
Then I bought a wristlet for my grunge look too. ohhh... vain pot...

To end our day, we finally go to Chinatown for some delicious food. Chinatown here is called Yaowarat (pronounced Ya Wa Rat). Had great Hong Kong Noodles, Seafood Fried Rice, delicious Tea, and most of all.. Sharkfin Soup. The sharkfin soup is just 300baht.
Look at the picture. Hong Kong Nooodles one hand, Sharkfin Soup the other.

4th September 2005 was the day I spent the most money on food in my entire life so far :p
