TORI AMOS TO RELEASE "ABNORMALLY ATTRACTED TO SIN" ON MAY 19.

Tori Amos will release her Universal Republic debut album, ABNORMALLY ATTRACTED TO SIN, on May 19, 2009.

A DVD of corresponding 'visualettes' for each track will accompany the deluxe version of ABNORMALLY ATTRACTED TO SIN. These interlocking episodic films bring to life the narrative arc of the album. The footage was captured over the past year and shot with a noir twist in HD and Super 8.

The album was produced by Tori and features longtime contributors Matt Chamberlain on drums, Jon Evans on bass, and Mac Aladdin on guitars. Once again Tori is joined in the studio by Mark Hawley and Marcel Van Limbeek who recorded and mixed the album at Martian Engineering in Cornwall, England. ABNORMALLY ATTRACTED TO SIN is the singer's tenth studio album, and is sure to be regarded by fans and critics as another innovative chapter in the artist's trailblazing career.

For nearly two decades, Tori Amos' stark lyrical flourishes and inspired musicianship have shaped the musical landscape. She is also considered one of the most emotionally powerful live artists in music today. Her most recent world tour, launched in the summer of 2007, with media platforms such as the BBC who lauded both her live show and album as 'returning Tori Amos back to the forefront of a genre she defined...still pushing her own boundaries.'

Much Better Than "That's Not My Name"

The video caught my attention.
And I'm actually getting hooked to the song... HEY!
:p

But this video concept isn't anything new.
White Stripes already made it famous.

Happy Birthday

As I grow older, birthdays become more and more tricky. I don't really feel the need to celebrate it anymore.
Probably because I see friends who make an effort to stay in touch. So without that element, it just becomes an event to sing a birthday song and eat cake.
But it always makes me happy when friends remember and try to do something for me. (So keep surprising me and do fly over more :p)
I am lucky that I've made really great friends when I part time at La Mer. So strange chemistry that keeps us together.
I'm very lucky :)

Ho Chi Minh City Trip

Ho Chi Minh City was a strange place for me to be in. There is actually a part of my history that know that life. No air conditioning. Messy traffic. Side street stalls barbeque-ing squids and meat.
But my body is forgetful. I was sweating.. and secretly looking for proper air conditioning.
And of course, with every step I walk I remind myself how lucky I am.
I did also wonder how did we run so fast ahead.. to be the Singapore we are now.

War is a terrible thing.
Ho Chi Minh is a great city now. But considering that 20 years ago, Vietnam was way ahead of Singapore, Malaysia even Thailand.. that terrible war slowed them down so much..

It also very strange for me.. since I've been to Siem Reap and Thailand before.. these 3 countries, although neighbors, reacted very differently to all the fighting. Ho Chi Minh people are very direct and rough. If you're in their way, they push you aside. Nothing personal.. You are just in the way..

This trip was very enriching.. and I will forever remember the fun of crossing the roads; dividing the traffic and merging into the whole transportation system.. flesh with metal and rubber :)

The tunnels are really narrow.. even for me..

Nice Shot Taken When We Were Exploring The City

Mekong River:
Generally Boring. On Boats.. Went to see how coconut sweets are made.. It's very different for us.. I think.. since we've probably experience this lifestyle one way or another.. Nothing New For Me Here.
