Formula One Weekend

As Singapore celebrates her big F1 weekend, I had a nice well planned weekend myself.
It started with Diana Krall concert.
Which was the biggest disappointment.
The organizers obviously screwed the concert.
We were shifted from the Marina Bay to Fort F**king Park.
Not that I hate that venue, but I had paid good money to get good acoustics and air conditioning and shelter from the weather.
Then to make things worse, half of the concert was filled with noises from the F1 warm up just around the area.

As much as what the Singapore Tourist Board will broadcast about their success, I'll give them a big thumbs down.
Else let them admit that they are only capable of organizing one single event at a time.
Because Diana Krall was very clearly advertised as part of the F1 event.

Apart from that, weekend was good.
I got to catch up with my hostel friends from last year of University after the concert.

Then I spent much of Saturday resting and tidying my room, and watching dvds :p

Sunday, I went to work.
Then got home to watch F1.
It was actually very fun to watch the race..
well, not so much as the race, but waiting for the cars to crash.

It's very exciting.
And when Massa tore the fuel hose at the pit stop,
I knew I'll be watching to wait for more accidents.

This weekend, Singapore earned a lot of money.
Too bad, my father's not Singapore
sigh...
off to work tomorrow!

hee..

I Think

that Life gives us rain in the morning to remind us that dragging ourselves to work is NOT the worst thing that can happen.

Seven Viewers And Counting...

I've always loved the local TV program - The Noose.
Their digs on the current affairs, and their irritating accents.

Not the most in-your-face humour.
But The Noose tickles me.

Listen: Warwick Avenue

Someone told me a song from Duffy the other day (I know I'm outdated)
The song title intrigued me immediately.
Why?
Because it was the place where I spent 3 weeks of my time when I was in London last year.

And when I went to see the video, it got me even more excited.
Because it showed the entrance of the Warwick Avenue Station, the spot I see almost everyday in that 3 weeks.
I almost can feel the warm air gushing out from the underground.
And I was trying to find the bus stop hiding in the background.
The church nearby.
The little restaurants.
And Tawfiq's house.

And another bonus for me, as I watched on is...
running mascara.
hee..

It's a nice song.
So I thought to share it here.

When I get to Warwick Avenue
Meet me by the entrance of the tube
We can talk things over, a little time
Promise me you won't step outta line

When I get to Warwick Avenue
Please drop the past and be true
Don't think we're okay, just because I'm here
You hurt me bad, but I won't shed a tear

I'm leaving you for the last time baby
You think you're loving but you don't love me
I've been confused outta’ my mind lately
You think you're loving but I want to be free
Baby you've hurt me

When I get to Warwick Avenue
We'll spend an hour, but no more than two
Our only chance to speak, once more
I showed you the answers, now here's the door

When I get to Warwick Avenue
I'll tell you baby, that we're through

I'm leaving you for the last time baby
You think you're loving but you don't love me
I've been confused outta’ my mind lately
You think you're loving but you don't love me
I want to be free, baby you've hurt me

All those days spent together, I wished for better
But I didn't want the train to come
Now it's departed
I'm broken hearted, seems like we never started
All the days spent together, when I wished for better
And I didn't want the train to come

You think you're loving but you don't love me
I want to be free, baby you've hurt me
You don't love me
I want to be free
Baby you've hurt me.

Fishy Day Out

Catherine, Qijin and me went on a fishy day out.
When we reached Farmart, the Spa Fish shop is closed.
So we drove to Qianhu (which is almost next to Farmart)
Qianhu has better settings and it's more conducive to afternoon chats and laughs.

But you incur an additional $2 compared to Farmart.
So that's your choice :)

Catherine was nervous before. But she turned out fine.
Jin was brave before. But...

It was not my first time doing this fish thingy. But it was the first to have a bigger fish munch on me feet. It feels different. And at Qianhu, There's a pool of big fish. Must try next time! hee...
Can you see who is Singtel? Who is M1? Who is Starhub? haha!

Poop Poop Love

I always enjoy reading Hsien's blog.
Yes there are days when the full passage of chinese characters makes my head spin.
But he always has very funny insights to things.
And I've always said this about him-
He's one of the few people I know who knows how to love.
And I'm very lucky that he's in my life in some way or another :)

Here's his latest insight:

爱情就象便便
来了挡也挡不住
Love is like poop poop.
You can't stop it when it wants to come.

爱情就象便便
水一冲就再也回不来了
Love is like poop poop.
Once it's flushed away, it's flushed away.

爱情就象便便
每一次都一样也都不大一样
Love is like poop poop.
No two affairs will ever be the same.

爱情就象便便
有时努力了很久却是个屁
Love is like poop poop.
Sometimes all that rumble in your tummy turns out to be nothing but a fart.
