The One That Got Away
This is one of my favourite P!nk songs.
And I know how lucky I am now that I no longer feel sad when I sing along to the lyrics :)
There's always one that gets away
The one that sneaks up on you that slips away
In a closed off corner of my heart
I'll always see your face
The one that got away
And I know how lucky I am now that I no longer feel sad when I sing along to the lyrics :)

Never Had A Dream Come True
Was listening to this song on my iPod today.
I remember how much I related to it back in 2000.
It sings about how a part of us will always stay with the one who we loved.
Move forward 11 years.
I realized that this is not true.
A part of us may change when a love story ends.
But we always move on.
As one full being.
Because only then can we deserve the love from our next love story.
:)

Ho Chi Minh City Trip
Ho Chi Minh City was a strange place for me to be in. There is actually a part of my history that know that life. No air conditioning. Messy traffic. Side street stalls barbeque-ing squids and meat.
But my body is forgetful. I was sweating.. and secretly looking for proper air conditioning.
And of course, with every step I walk I remind myself how lucky I am.
I did also wonder how did we run so fast ahead.. to be the Singapore we are now.
War is a terrible thing.
Ho Chi Minh is a great city now. But considering that 20 years ago, Vietnam was way ahead of Singapore, Malaysia even Thailand.. that terrible war slowed them down so much..
It also very strange for me.. since I've been to Siem Reap and Thailand before.. these 3 countries, although neighbors, reacted very differently to all the fighting. Ho Chi Minh people are very direct and rough. If you're in their way, they push you aside. Nothing personal.. You are just in the way..
This trip was very enriching.. and I will forever remember the fun of crossing the roads; dividing the traffic and merging into the whole transportation system.. flesh with metal and rubber :)
We Kinda Ate A Lot Every Meal :p

ChuChi Tunnels:
The tunnels are really narrow.. even for me..

Nice Shot Taken When We Were Exploring The City

Mekong River:
Generally Boring. On Boats.. Went to see how coconut sweets are made.. It's very different for us.. I think.. since we've probably experience this lifestyle one way or another.. Nothing New For Me Here.

Salary Celebration
We had planned to celebrate our first month pay on this extravagant Japanese Restaurant - Edogawa Teppanyaki.
Catherine and Qijin's job change, and my first full time job.
It wasn't so bad. But to spend over $40 dollars... I wouldn't for the second time :p

Then we went to Clarke Quay to chill.
The drinks were very lousy.
But we still managed to chat and laugh til 2am.

Our yucky drinks.
But it was a fun night :)

Formula One Weekend
As Singapore celebrates her big F1 weekend, I had a nice well planned weekend myself.
It started with Diana Krall concert.
Which was the biggest disappointment.
The organizers obviously screwed the concert.
We were shifted from the Marina Bay to Fort F**king Park.
Not that I hate that venue, but I had paid good money to get good acoustics and air conditioning and shelter from the weather.
Then to make things worse, half of the concert was filled with noises from the F1 warm up just around the area.
As much as what the Singapore Tourist Board will broadcast about their success, I'll give them a big thumbs down.
Else let them admit that they are only capable of organizing one single event at a time.
Because Diana Krall was very clearly advertised as part of the F1 event.
Apart from that, weekend was good.
I got to catch up with my hostel friends from last year of University after the concert.
Then I spent much of Saturday resting and tidying my room, and watching dvds :p
Sunday, I went to work.
Then got home to watch F1.
It was actually very fun to watch the race..
well, not so much as the race, but waiting for the cars to crash.
It's very exciting.
And when Massa tore the fuel hose at the pit stop,
I knew I'll be watching to wait for more accidents.
This weekend, Singapore earned a lot of money.
Too bad, my father's not Singapore
sigh...
off to work tomorrow!
hee..

Fishy Day Out
Catherine, Qijin and me went on a fishy day out.
When we reached Farmart, the Spa Fish shop is closed.
So we drove to Qianhu (which is almost next to Farmart)
Qianhu has better settings and it's more conducive to afternoon chats and laughs.
But you incur an additional $2 compared to Farmart.
So that's your choice :)
Catherine was nervous before. But she turned out fine.
Jin was brave before. But...

It was not my first time doing this fish thingy. But it was the first to have a bigger fish munch on me feet. It feels different. And at Qianhu, There's a pool of big fish. Must try next time! hee...
Can you see who is Singtel? Who is M1? Who is Starhub? haha!

Giggles
I've been wanting to post this picture for some time now.
I was shopping around HongKong last month, and saw this sign.
It made me giggle.
When I saw the sign, (which read: Sales Wanted)
I thought
"INDEED!"
heehee...

But if course, the shopkeeper meant to say "Salesperson Wanted".
Or at least I think so :p

Macau / HK Trip
I'm finally back home!
This trip's biggest rewards were to get to see many of my friends.
All of them, I don't have the luxury of calling them out for coffee or dinner anymore.
I am happy to see them doing well in HongKong. Of course, it is tough.
But they are not dreading living there. So I'm happy.
And the other pleasant surprise is knowing two new friends.
They are really sweet.
They even tried to show us around HK.
Me and Lisun got to spend one night at the Venetian hotel.
It is so nice.
I think I will want the chance to go back to Vegas and spend a night in Caesars :p

This is where I worked for a week.
In the Venetian Exhibition Halls.
Super comfy

Picture taken by Lisun.
When we walked in the Venetian's Shopping Canal.

And our trip out to other Casinos.

Then to HongKong.
They brought us to an "original" cafe.
A few Hollywood movies were shot there.
It's near Temple Street.

Standing: Gage, Grace (Friend I got to know at Venetian), Zihao and Weisi (My M-Event friends)
Sitting: Judy (Other new HK friend) and Winston.
