Drops of Jupiter

I have always loved the song Drops of Jupiter by Train
And I was listening to it yesterday, when some words crept into my head.
I'll share the song lyrics first.

Drops of Jupiter
Now that she's back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey
She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there's time to change, hey, hey
Since the return from her stay on the moon
She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey

Tell me did you sail across the sun
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated
Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me while you were looking at yourself out there

Now that she's back from that soul vacation
Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey
She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo
Reminds me that there's time to grow, hey, hey

Now that she's back in the atmosphere
I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane
Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly so he never did land

Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back to the Milky Way
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind
Was it everything you wanted to find
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there

Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken
Your best friend always sticking up for you
Even when I know you're wrong
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance five-hour phone conversation
The best soy latte that you ever had . . . and me

Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back toward the Milky Way

And tell me, did you sail across the sun
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated
Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me while you were looking at yourself

share with me what did you see from the song...

I'm sure the person missed you while looking for herself out there.

I love this song.

The galaxy is huge but the the most terrifying distances are in a person's mind. Ask her, did she miss you while she was looking there?

I think I shared wugo's view.

She didn't miss you. Perhaps she does recall you at times but she didn't miss you. She has changed and grew. Sometimes after a trip to jupiter, there will be no returns... I mean she has drops of jupiter in her hair. She acts like summer and walks like rain, she listens like spring and talks like June. Do you know summer, rain, spring or June? Even if you do, you know that 'she' is no longer her... Cos she acts like summer and walks like rain, she listens like spring and talks like June. She has no traits of herself anymore, so why do you think she will still have fragments of you?

If heaven is overrated, sail across the sun so that you can declare that. So that she won't see you as the plain old jane. And if she has fallen for a shooting star, with or without a permanent scar, that is her choice.

No love, pride, deep fried chicken are no longer her concern. She has moved on. No first dance, that is when ? High school. Don't always live in your high school nightmares. She didn't. Was yours, one that concerns whether or not she misses you? From the look of it, she didn't. So you have lived your high school nightmares shall we continue with our life?

Life sucks and high school nightmares are no myths but we can always choose to grow up, to change. So praise the Lord!!!

thanx guys ☺
well, my jupiter is never coming back.
but i already know the answer to the question.
jupiter told me ☺

i guess sometimes not ending up together doesn't mean that it's a sad ending
and loving each other across the galaxy may be the best conclusion ☺

thanx ☺
i know your intentions
don't worry about me ☺

oh and wugo,
i agree that the most terrifying distances are in a person's mind.
i actually wrote something about it.
it's called stars.

maybe i shld post it here someday

and guys.. visit wugo's blog.. very cool contents ☺
I love his entry on optimism
haha

Do you really believe in loving each other across the galaxy?

haha
when you love someone, you just do.
we do ☺

but long distance relationship. No.
we just love each other in our own ways.

Good to believe in love. Good to be able to be hurted... That is part of growing up. But love, cos it is overrated, we usually pay too high a price for it. Did you check out the market price? I am sure you are paying through your nose...
