Trip Back Home 14th Oct ~ 19th Oct

(Can You understand my presentation of the artist's display?)

I had a dream last night in which I can predict the future so accurately that people would come up to me and ask for answers. LKY asked me about Singapore and I told him: “Singapore will become so great that you can’t even imagine it. It will become the city of cities. But I also see the destruction of Singapore in 300 years time. It will be over so fast that people can’t even imagine that there was this great city that stood in the middle of South-East Asia.” And then LKY looked at me and asked whether we could prevent it’s destruction, and I said, “Don’t be naïve, all great civilizations have a beginning, a middle and an end."
~The Mysterious Book of Invisible Children, Brian Gothong Tan.

Although there are no pictures here to show, the multimedia used are fantastic. Still Pictures do these things great injustice.

I had spent over an hour walking back and forth the Esplanade Tunnel. Looking at each section, Looking at each item. And it was actually good that I was alone. Because no one was there to rush me :)

My only regret is that I had no good camera with me.

(My hands didn't shake. This is an intended special effect by the artist.)
When a good half of the people I know thought that I was still in Thailand, it actually feels quite erotic to be back home walking the streets and be at the Esplanade (with the possibility of bumping into unsuspecting friends) and be immersed in such great Art.

Comments:
Actually there are many good things in Singapore but there are few who will stand and stare. So my advice to the many Singaporeans out there instead of complaining and lamenting about the limitations of our small island learn to appreciate it, love it. Don't ask yourself 'Was I here?' in the end.

AYE!
