Tree Top Walk
You must understand that my life has been a big bore!
School work and projects.
So I was really excited to finally do something. One thing that tells me that I am still alive.
The three of us have been talking about going to the tree top walk for some time. So, sunday morning, we got up early to go to the much talked about grand structure.
We started around 9am. Catherine, Qijin and her boyfriend, Lawerence. I was late as usual. But really excited.
And we reminded each other of the longer route that many had warned us about.
It would take us hours to reach and we would need to cover at least 10km just to reach there.
When we finally reached the end of the route (for locals: the X-Country, Boys Route.) We realised that we took the long route.
DARN!
#&@%$@^%$!@&$@(*^%*(#@^$@
So we went on the long route. Chatting and looking at the view. To be honest, I have never been to that part of the Reservoir Park. So i didn't really mind.
When we finally reach the starting point of the bridge, Qijin cried out with much joy - "WELCOME TO THE TREE TOP WALK. WELCOME!!!"
haha
I didn't think much of the walk.
Not much of a view.
And the special trees and bugs mentioned are not where in sight.
And to me, the 20 minutes on top of the bridge didn't justify the 4 hours we walked.
(the unnecessary steps)
To make things worse, the journey to the tree top walk is quite unnecessary.
We first had to walk up a steep slope, then down a long flight of stairs, walk the bridge, then climb up a long flight of steps, and finally walk down the last stretch of steps.
PHEW!
but why?????
We are going to walk to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve from MacRitchie Reservoir Park the next time. Sure hope it will be a more enriching process then!
