Make a whole new religion

I was counting in my head yesterday.. and wow.. I was gone for a month..
I hope I was missed..

Jayna sent me so many smses.. but when I told her that it's too expensive.. she said, "nothing's too expensive for me to sent a message to you"
aww.. so sweet.. makes me smile.. and warm in the crappy cold weather..

I'm flying back home in less than 24hours.. so pictures will be up soon!


I missed many people this trip.. so if you missed me too.. say something here..

The second conference is over!
yeah
we had a company dinner last night.
most parts was quite horrible.
everyone's speaking german and i cannot appear to blank out.
but i do understand that it is more comfortable to speak their native language; and they shouldn't have to put in more effort to entertain me on the night they can rest and relax.

i had two oysters.
fresh.
but i'm glad it was two :p
then prawn salad
then smoked salmon.. very nice!

and of course, champagne, white and red wine.
and finally desert.
it should cost a lot.
but for the work that i have done for them and the pay that i get.
i deserve it.

then we will only go to the conference hall to set up for the third conference at 12.55.. it's now 10+am
sooooo good...
i got to sleep 9 hours
hee..

one last conference then holiday!
this will be the thought to get me through the last week.


and this trip made me realise that i am a very proud asian and singaporean.

i have had one person ask me if singapore is developed.
and he had went to singapore last july to do a conference then.
i asked him
you were there and you didnt know if singapore is developed?!

then yesterday the boss of the america office was surprised that i dont speak german (he does)
and exclaimed
NO~~! it can't be!
i told him
i'm chinese so i speak mandarin.
germans are not like that
it's just him.

when i get back home
not only will i learn my french
I will also improve my chinese.

we don't have to tell everyone that chinese is the best language
or singapore is first class
but we cannot allow others to feel that they are superior
just because we cannot even speak proper mandarin
or not know the least bit about singapore...!

Generally, eye surgeons are more disgusting than heart doctors.
nose high
eyes on the top of the head
disgusting

and i've seen so many clips to show eye operation
i can never exactly get too used to it
but i'm better now
and each time i sit beside a doctor, waiting for him/ her to check the presentation slides, I'll stare at their eye ball.
and wonder how it will be like to put a needle into their eye balls.

the operation has so much insertions into the eye ball that i always wonder if the eye will be ok after the surgery.

i also realised that some doctors are more gentle than the others
some insert the probe into the eye ball as though it is just jelly
ouch!

and finally..
some doctors are really funny
they look at a slide for 15 minutes
and there are only 3 lines
i always can't help but to take a peek to see if they had fallen asleep

I was saying the other day that I have a car ride that I hope I will never do again.
In fact, if we were given a night to sleep and rest, it wouldn't be so bad..
But we started driving after the conference and the journey took about 36 hours.

We started from Vienna, Austria
through Czech Republic
the things there are cheap.
We bought Mac in the early morning.
And food for 3 people is 9 euros..

Then we reached Berlin, Germany
picked up a colleague. Then started to drive again.
It was so cold.. I was wearing 4 layers.
And I mean 1 tshirt, 1 jumper and 2 jackets!
haha

Then we took a ferry at Rostock to cross the sea to Denmark
I was asleep when the car boarded the ship.
So i don't really know :p

Then we arrived at Helsingør after 2 hours and 35 minutes.
It's quite refreshing.. Don't know why
maybe because i've never took a car for a ferry ride.

Then we drove across Denmark and took a short 45 minute ferry to Sweden
The drove 6 hours to reach Stockholm, Sweden

We've had a GPS navigator.
And it's usually "drive 9km and turn right"
or
"drive 20km and turn left"

But in Sweden, it's mostly "drive 150km and turn right"
Everytime I hear 150km or 120km... I feel like vomitting...

:)

So now I'm in sweden
It feels like a very modern place.
But I havent got the chance to look around.
We finish work at 1am yesterday
And I slept at 3am and woke at 6am

So.....
Hopefully will get to see stockholm a bit after this conference ends and before the last one starts.
We have 2 days to set up....
Maybe we'll have time to go to the city too :P

Oh ya.
We did Cardiology Conference in Vienna
so it's quite boring.
But here!
It's eyes..
So everyday I look at videos inserting lens, or cutting eyeballs..
It's very gross!

Wanted to upload some pictures.
But internet here sucks
I'm sitting at the lobby of the hotel.. because there is not wifi in my room.
so crappy.
Plus i am freaking tired.

but work is ok
though i work 13 hours a day

vienna is beautiful
weather is ok
just like what i experienced in london
so it's ok
they say sweden is colder
so let's hope i have enough clothes :P
