Tree Top Walk
You must understand that my life has been a big bore!
School work and projects.
So I was really excited to finally do something. One thing that tells me that I am still alive.
The three of us have been talking about going to the tree top walk for some time. So, sunday morning, we got up early to go to the much talked about grand structure.
We started around 9am. Catherine, Qijin and her boyfriend, Lawerence. I was late as usual. But really excited.
And we reminded each other of the longer route that many had warned us about.
It would take us hours to reach and we would need to cover at least 10km just to reach there.
When we finally reached the end of the route (for locals: the X-Country, Boys Route.) We realised that we took the long route.
DARN!
#&@%$@^%$!@&$@(*^%*(#@^$@
So we went on the long route. Chatting and looking at the view. To be honest, I have never been to that part of the Reservoir Park. So i didn't really mind.
When we finally reach the starting point of the bridge, Qijin cried out with much joy - "WELCOME TO THE TREE TOP WALK. WELCOME!!!"
haha
I didn't think much of the walk.
Not much of a view.
And the special trees and bugs mentioned are not where in sight.
And to me, the 20 minutes on top of the bridge didn't justify the 4 hours we walked.
(the unnecessary steps)
To make things worse, the journey to the tree top walk is quite unnecessary.
We first had to walk up a steep slope, then down a long flight of stairs, walk the bridge, then climb up a long flight of steps, and finally walk down the last stretch of steps.
PHEW!
but why?????
We are going to walk to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve from MacRitchie Reservoir Park the next time. Sure hope it will be a more enriching process then!
hee...

On the abandoned beach,
Seashells and Shellfish that deplore the loss of the summer which went away
We put the holidays away in cardboard suitcases
And it is sad when we think of the season of the sun and the songs
Though I know the flowers will bloom again next year
But I am in sorrow now to leave the sea and my house
The mistral will be accustomed to blow without the sailing boats
And it is in my dishevelled hair that I will miss it most
My dear friend, The Sun, that only burns from a long way off
Believing that we are a little angry that we are both separated
The train will take me along towards the autumn to find the city under the rain
My grief is not for anybody.
I will keep him like a dear friend
But on the first days of Summer,
all the forgotten problems, we'll return to celebrate with the shellfish of the sunny beach
...of the sunny beach
...of the sunny beach

Tantrums
It sucks to grow up.
I can't throw tantrums whenever I like.
So when I get angry, what do I do?
Re-frame.
Re-framing is giving the other party the benefit of the doubt.
When your love arrives late for a date, you tell yourself the maybe he/ she is held up at a traffic jam. And that he/ she is feeling worse than you are (stress from the situation and you.)
When your mother nags, you tell yourself she nags because she loves you a lot.
Anger manifests in itself. It grows larger and larger until it consumes you until you can't see Reason.
Time to cope with anger and grow up a bit :)
Because holding it in will not help either.

That Is So-Yesterday!
Have you ever thought about the latest fashion in language?
About old fashioned words?
I actually had a conversation with Tawfiq about this before.
For example, we probably say "The teacher told me off just now" rather than "The teacher scolded me just now".
And say Bikini and Speedo instead of Swimming Costume.
Wardrobe Malfunction, Brokeback and Google-It are some of the new words that people use these days.
There are so many different ways to communicate now - SMS, MSN and Video Conferencing.
And Emoticons are changing the way we express ourselves.
>:-( Annoyed
:-9 Licking Lips
:-( Sad
:-& Tongue Tied
:-\ Undecided
:-))) Very Happy
l-O Yawning
Apparently Groovy is now considered old fashioned word.
But I think I will still use it.
hee.
